Welcome to Sentrim Samburu Lodge
 
  • Samburu National Reserve is located on the banks of the Ewaso Ng'iro River in Kenya and covers 165 km².  It is located in Samburu District of the Rift Valley Province.  It is one of the two areas in which conservationists George Adamson and Joy Adamson raised Elsa the Lioness made famous in the best selling book and award winning movie Born Free.  It is also the home of Kamunyak, a lioness famous for adopting Oryx calves.

    Climate
    Generally hot and dry fanned by a cool breeze. Long rains are anticipated from mid April to May and the short rains from November to early December.  Min temp of 18° and max of 37° Celsius.

    Access
    345 km from Nairobi and takes approximately 6 hours by road to Sentrim Samburu and 50 minutes by air.  The camp is 15 km from the airstrip.
    Recommended 4 Wheel Drive or Tour van.

    Location
    Sentrim Samburu Camp, the latest in guest accommodation is located in Samburu Game Reserve. The entirely new 20 luxurious and comfortable deluxe tents spread out along the shady banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River.  The main guest area consists of the reception, lounge area, restaurant and bar, gift shop and a bar lounge with a view of the river.
